IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL ADOPTERS

Cats are subject to many life-threatening viruses and parasites, most of which can be transmitted from cat to cat. Cats'N'Us does not know the backgrounds of most of our cats and kittens, many of whom are strays or unwanted pets, and have never been vaccinated to protect them from these potentially fatal problems. Although the cats at the shelter are routinely vaccinated and checked for parasites,  Cats'N'Us does not have the funding to provide complete prevention and/or treatment for these types of problems which occur in every shelter.

While we do our best to provide for their health, there are times when we are not able to discern an already incubating illness which can later be transmitted to any cat or cats you already have at home. Therefore, we strongly recommend having a veterinarian check your new cat or kitten within the two-day grace period required upon adoption.

PLEASE protect any resident cat you may have in your home by keeping your new arrivals in a separate location for a recommended period of time, allowing them plenty of time to integrate with your other cats.

BE AWARE! Any noticeable changes in your cats, be they shelter or resident, such as runny nose, fever, loss of appetite, inability or refusal to drink water, reduced activity levels, eye problems, etc., should signal the necessity of an immediate visit to your veterinarian because:

Cats'N'Us is not responsible for any problems resulting from contact between your adopted cat(s)/kitten(s) and your resident cat(s)/kitten(s).
